Parking Instructions and Traffic Reminders for Events on Weekend of Dec. 3-4

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of events scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 through Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016. The public is encouraged to be patient and prepared for delays by making transportation arrangements accordingly.

Sanchez & Copelin-Byrd Multi-Purpose Center at 1616 Caffin Ave in New Orleans, as a part of Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s comprehensive murder reduction strategy, NOLA FOR LIFE.

NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball Season 13 Continues

NEW ORLEANS — On Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, the City of New Orleans alongside the New Orleans Pelicans, RPM Pizza, MetroPCS and PlayNOLA will continue Season 13 of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball, a program that focuses on providing safe recreational activities, jobs and opportunities in crime hot spots for males over 16 years old through basketball, mentorship and support.

NORDC Teen Council, Chevron, Bike Easy, Gear Up NOLA to Host Family Bike Ride this Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – On Saturday, December 3, 2016, the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) Teen Council will host its final Family Bike Ride at Sanchez Multi-Purpose Center, 1616 Caffin Ave. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event provides New Orleans families with a fun, safe opportunity to exercise together and enjoy the outdoors.

Welcome Table New Orleans Algiers Circle to Reveal Major Art Project in Partnership with Local Artist Brandon “B-Mike” Odums

NEW ORLEANS – The Algiers Circle of the Welcome Table New Orleans, a citywide initiative of the Mayor’s Office focused on race, reconciliation and community building, announces its reconciliation project with the unveiling of a mural and oral history project on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1-3:30 p.m. The event will begin with a screening of the Algiers Circle’s oral history project at L.B. Landry - O.P. Walker College and Career Preparatory High School auditorium, (1200 L. B. Landry Avenue.)

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The Mid-City Circle of the Welcome Table New Orleans—a citywide initiative of the Mayor’s Office focused on race, reconciliation, and community - along with the Young Artists’ Movement, Prospect New Orleans, the Arts Council of New Orleans, and NORDC announce the unveiling of a collaborative community mural Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Lemann Pool building (536 North Prieur St.)

Fix My Streets Financing Working Group To Hold Public Meeting

NEW ORLEANS — TOMORROW, Tuesday, November 29, 2016, the City’s Fix My Streets Financing Working Group will hold its sixth public meeting to address New Orleans’ long-term infrastructure needs. Established by Executive Order by Mayor Landrieu, the Fix My Streets Financing Working Group has been charged with developing recommendations about how the City can pay for interior street repairs based on information presented during the public meetings.

City of New Orleans Abandoned Vehicle Auction Postponed

NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works Abandoned Vehicle Auction scheduled for November 29, 2016 has been postponed. The Department of Public Works will look to reschedule the Abandoned Vehicle Auction in January 2017.
