NORDC Kicks Off 2017 Spring Programming

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) announces its programming and registration for spring 2017. Spring programming runs through May 19. NORDC will facilitate various programs and classes throughout the city for youth, teens and seniors.  NORDC spring programming includes indoor aquatics, fitness classes, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball, piano, visual arts, choir, and dance.

City Announces 2017 Mardi Gras Clean-Up Operations Job Fair

NEW ORLEANSToday, the City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation and JOB1 announced the 2017 Mardi Gras Clean-Up Operations Job Fair to recruit 150 temporary employees during the upcoming Mardi Gras season. The job fair will take place on Friday, Jan. 20th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the second floor of the JOB1 Business and Career Solutions Center located at 3400 Tulane Ave.

Mayor, City Officials Urge Congress to Block Repeal of Affordable Care Act

NEW ORLEANS—Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and City Councilmembers sent a letter to U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Hon. Paul Ryan and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Hon. Mitch McConnell urging Congress to work to block any repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) without a better alternative planned. At least one in five Louisiana residents rely on the ACA for coverage.

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport Announces North Terminal Project Gate Expansion

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the New Orleans Aviation Board (NOAB) announced a five gate expansion of the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport North Terminal Project, bringing the total number of gates from 30 to 35.

NEW ORLEANS--Today, the City of New Orleans announced that City Hall will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. City Hall will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017.

New Orleans Together will feature an appearance by Grammy Award Winner India.Arie as well as locally and nationally-acclaimed artist and activist Brandan “Bmike” Odums, singer Robin Barnes, the Cole Williams Band and Tysson.
