Wisner Grant Donation
The Edward Wisner Donation was created from the estate of Edward Wisner to the City of New Orleans as a 100 year charitable trust in 1914. According to the original donation, the Wisner Donation must support local needs in the areas of beautification, education, recreation or human services.
Today, the Wisner Donation offers public and non-profit organizations an opportunity to submit a funding request through a competitive selection process.
Proposals should include information about the organization; details on specific programs grants would fund, a requested dollar amount, and an explanation of how the project would be benefit the public.
All applicants are encouraged to provide an Occupational License number and Confirmation of Good Standing from the Louisiana Secretary of State along with their application.
Grantees will be required to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the City of New Orleans and to provide documentation including:
An approved Tax Clearance Authorization
Confirmation of Good Standing from the Secretary of State

Please note: any non-profit organization operating within the City of New Orleans must have an Occupational License. If your organization does not have an Occupational license, please visit The Bureau of Revenue (Room 1W15 in City Hall). Occupational licenses will be issued at no charge for all qualifying non-profits

Section 4: Key Contact Information for the Organization
Section 5: Leadership
Section 6: Other Sources of Funding

The City of New Orleans accepts and reviews grant applications twice a year.
Fall Deadline: December 31
Spring Deadline: May 31
Organizations can only be granted funds once per calendar year. If your organization is not chosen to receive a Wisner grant we encourage you to re-apply for the next deadline.
Applications for the next review period are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
